“You are the sky.
Everything else – it’s just the weather.”

Pema Chödrön

Many clients come to counselling because of anxiety and depression, and the descriptions below may resonate with you. These are emotions that every person feels at one time or another. If your experience of anxiety or depression is prolonged, or interfering with how you experience your life, counselling can help.

Counselling for anxiety and depression is about exploring thoughts, feelings and behavior associated with anxiety and depression, to shift both your experience of these emotions and their impact on your life.

But it is also about exploring where you’ve come from, who you are, and where you’re going. When you connect with your authentic, grounded, whole-hearted self, you’ll experience less interference from the “what if’s,” “should have’s” and “not enough’s” of anxiety and depression.

The psychologist Carl Rogers once said, “the curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” The counselling process is not just about managing symptoms, but making way for clarity and congruence in your thoughts and feelings, and how you live your life.
